The majority of Americans have seen their savings dwindle to nothing, their retirement plans washed down the drain of stock market dreams, and their lives have become much harder as they struggle to make ends meet.

The Primary Obstacles To Successful Business.

You are the primary obstacle.

Your hopeless thinking. Your fear of success. Your fear of leaving the familiar.

We are creatures of habit. We tend to settle into habits that feel secure and stable in order to bring order to our lives. Reaching out beyond the comfort zone to dwell in the realm of risk and reward is not our natural inclination. In fact, our entire society (speaking of America) and humanity in general lives with the goal of stabilizing our immediate environment so we can rest and enjoy our lives.  However, we tend to settle with less and less as time goes on.  The only way to break this mindset is to totally shatter it and walk in faith, daily depending on God for your provision. 

How do we depend on God when it seems like this bill will never be paid if I stop what I am doing? Simple. You just think against your well established habits. Go out and try something new. Talk to people. Do some research on the internet. Follow your passion and share it with the world. The key is you must do this consistently until something happens. 

Your limited vision is a huge obstacle.

Once you figure out that you can and will do something about it, the question is

“How do I do something about it?” 

The biggest obstacle to doing something about your situation is actually to stop thinking about it, stop fearing it, and start DOING SOMETHING! In order to move forward in your newly acquired desire for success you need VISION. The bigger the vision the better.

If you do not develop a vision and a plan you will never even decide on a  first step. You need to take the first step to get a feel for how you must proceed to the next step. Before you know it you will be forming strategies and craving more information about how to accomplish your short-term, mid-term and long-term goals. 

Your vision should contain your passion or at least a strong interest. If you can define your passion or strong interest then you have accomplished half of your goal already.

Your Local Economic Situation Is Exactly That, LOCAL.  

You need to find a way to expand beyond your current boundaries.

If you are limited in your town or city to a small population and you earnestly desire to make a good living then you must find a way to reach more people. 

The only way to reach more people effectively and at low cost is to utilize the internet. When you expand from your small town or even big city population to the population of an entire country or the entire world you have taken a HUGE STEP in making your business service or product more accessible. It goes without saying (but I will say it anyway) that your product or service must be something that does not require all of your time…trading time for dollars. You only have so much time to give or trade in return for money. So before you jump into internet marketing you need to give some serious thought to what your product or service will be. 

The Perfect Product Or Service Must Be In High Demand.

How Long Will It Take To Build A Successful Business Online?

• Give yourself 5 years to get your business totally cranking. Then you will not be disappointed when you fail to meet unrealistic short-term goals. 

• Expect to work very hard the first year and start seeing some results. Some very good results.

• Expect to refine your business process to make it better and more profitable over the next year.

• If you form a team with which you can work together it is easier to bear the load and faster to achieve tangible results.

Most people get into a business idea and start working fast and furious.

When they do not realize profits within a very short time they tend to give up. This is the wrong expectation and the wrong course of action. I can speak from experience on this, that you must be willing to put in some time to make any business work. Does that sound like you? If you are expecting to make tons of money right off the bat, such opportunities are far and few in between. If you have made that happen for yourself then congratulations. You are the minority.

Much of the time expectation can be shortened depending on how hard you work on your vision and your plan. The harder you work now and the more time you spend the faster you will get a return. Once you accept that it will take some time to make your business work, you can then focus your energy on taking the next steps.

If you need money right now while you are working on your business then sell something or get a part time job. Be realistic. You don’t need much to survive. If you are already in over your head with bills and debt it may be time to downsize your situation to fit your budget. Downsizing takes off the pressure and buys you precious time.
